"It was a drop of joy."

(😬)

Tanner, I was just revisiting the process I went through to self-publish my first book of poetry. During the Pandemic. Of course...while other people were learning to make sourdough bread or take up watercolors the writers were writing.

Thank you for sharing this journey and reframing those dark days... your book and its 'drop of joy' are a testimony of what God can do and will continue to do with your words.

Hi Jody! What a process it is to self-publish. It was worth every moment of frustration. Although, some days, I wish I had decided to learn how to make a really good loaf of sourdough bread haha :)

Which book of yours did you self publish during the pandemic?

Tanner, I also sorta learned how to make sourdough. Sorta being the operative word. My poetry book is Hearts on Pilgrimage: Poems & Prayers; here’s a link for you (and thanks for asking!) https://jodyleecollins.com/hearts-on-pilgrimage-poems-prayers/

FEAR acronym "false evidence appearing real."

The struggle is real and you are not alone. And the liar licks its lips when we stay there too long. I like to think I'll make its teeth grind instead. Keep the faith..

Love this! A drop of joy gives us a drop of hope when facing the unknown. It reminds us that our Hope lives inside us, and He will never leave as we face that unknown. That drop is a gift you have blessed others with. Thank you!

Oh my goodness. I’ve had this book on my shelf for a while and haven’t picked it up till just this morning! (I know, but some books just need to wait to be opened till the right time). This was a sweet coincidence:)

The no punctuation crowd sounds like a rough group, glad you got out of that. 😜

But I also appreciate saying out loud the fears of self-publishing because not once have I ever thought of you as less than, but I have the same fears as I wonder where my projects will end up.

Every two paragraphs I have to stop and exclaim, "REALLY?!" Thank you for sharing.

And responses incoming about what I'd want in a writing gathering.
