Discovered you on Threads by some grace bestowed on me by the algorithm, and I’m not on there much but always enjoy your posts. I’m reading one of your books and am happy to subscribe here. Keep up the good work.
"I’m no Whitman or Poe, Dickinson or Angelou, Weezy or Taylor Swift."
These are indeed some of the greats, but I've found that some of the lesser known, hardly known poets and writers are sometimes my version of Whitman or Angelou- the ones who, in the right moment, have spoken to me at a time I could hear it. Your writing strikes me this way- honest, vulnerable, potent.
We don't know one another but I think I can say that we share quite a bit in common after reading this poem. I aspire to be more of a writer and sharer, too, but I haven't really gotten started yet, at least not on Substack anyway. I have enjoyed reading what you have to share.
It's like being in the front seat of a show. Now, in poemsday form.

Like Poemsday! Got it right away!
This is so beautiful! Maybe Hopeful Poemsday? 😄
The more we say Poemsday the more I am getting into it!
Loved hearing you present this.
Thanks! :) more to come!
I personally love how "Poemsday" sounds and I'm really excited for the new series Tanner!
Thanks Tristan! Looking forward to sharing another one with you next Wednesday!
Hi Tanner,
We don't know one another but I think I can say that we share quite a bit in common after reading this poem. I aspire to be more of a writer and sharer, too, but I haven't really gotten started yet, at least not on Substack anyway. I have enjoyed reading what you have to share.

Thanks Mike! Looking forward to reading what you write
This is probably the 1st poem I'd ever read by you (a couple years ago)! It remains one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing it, Tanner. ❤️
I'm so glad you like this one. It is one of my favorites :) Am I allowed to have favorites?
Absolutely!
