Perfect poem for my day today- both of those really Blessed morning, Tanner, as well as your song. Thankyou for sharing what was on your heart. Gave wings to the day!
Matt and Tanner, your poetry (whether spoken or by song) is like honey and a warm blanket to my soul. Just beautiful and full of assurance of the Lord. Thank you for sharing.
Tanner, excellent poem again. I always look forward to reading your Wednesday posts.
Here is my poetry club post for the week. its different than my normal posts in that it is not theological. just a silly little poem from a real life experience.
There’s something holy about language that doesn’t try to fix you, just sits beside you until the ache softens. “You are not behind.” That alone was enough to untangle a knot I didn’t know I’d tied.
The line “I’ve been told wisdom is as good as gold” made me smile like someone had just handed me a weathered map back to myself.
This is what poetry does when it’s written for the soul, not the syllabus. It reminds us we’re carried, not cursed.
We go on. Yes.
And sometimes we even do it with praise on our lips.
To mary? Aww you got my attention. What a beautiful share. Thank you!
Today is a catholic feast of the Carmelites an order who prays and ponders and contemplates - in the 12th century Jesus's mom came to mount Carmel to remind us to look and see G-d who is present now with us - even in places experiencing violence and horrors of war as currently in the mt Carmel area trust
Very beautiful.

Good stuff!
Love poetry on Wednesdays and this song and poem. I read one of my poems https://open.substack.com/pub/deborahrutherford/p/the-god-who-woos-us-home?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=bhras.
I love waking up and thinking, "It's Wednesday! There will be poems!" Today I wrote about cleaning up barf, so that was a first. 🤣https://literaryfeast.substack.com/p/night-watch-after-our-last-supper?r=kgdnq
I also often find myself writing what I need to hear... or what I’m currently processing. For this week’s Wednesday Poetry Club, this was it.

Hi matt! Good to meet you - here V on Tanners channel
Don’t give up.
Sit still for another moment before you get up and go,
and when you go,
take it slow.
Life is not a problem to solve
or resolve.
It’s a gift,
not a burden,
not a mess,
not just another thing to stress.
Take a moment to pray.
Drop to your knees or fold your hands,
either way, God hears !!!
Love love love this poem. Thank you for sharing!

This one quieted me in the best way.

To Mary
I want to be able to tell you
All I have seen and heard
All I have known, all I will know
But will you understand
When I tell you I have seen G-d
In a tree or a mountain
In a piece of bread dipped in wine
In a dancer, a clown
a person living under the bridge
who huddles in the cold
A person who cannot see,or hear, or walk
Perhaps you will hear
If I speak in the language of love
If I do not speak to you
but speak to your soul
With questions – questions that may not have answers we can hear with our ears
but ring loudly in our hearts
Will you understand if
I tell you I have seen G-d in you?
