Keep Up
I cannot keep up.
There is too much going on.
New trends and styles and words.
And yes, we were meant to grow and change, but I am more like a tree, and less like a machine.
I can only be me.
This morning, as I watched the sun rise and the darkness hide I realized:
I wasn’t created to keep up.
I was created to keep showing up, to let go, to give what I have, to love, and live.
This is a safe place to be honest, right?
Okay. Good.
Lately I have been frustrated with the internet.
My work isn’t seen by those who follow me and on top of that I’m losing followers (or bots?).
I don’t know.
And it shouldn’t matter, but for one reason or another it bothers me.
All of the articles and Instagram experts tell me I need to keep up with the changes and try something new.
One account suggested I write something controversial, but I hate conflict and the most controversial thing I can think of is that I think Double Stuffed Oreos have too much filling.
I am a regular Oreo kind of guy.
Let the debate begin.
One account told me I should dance.
But I don’t want to dance on the internet.
That wouldn’t be genuine and nobody wants to see that.
One account said that if I want to reach people I need to make my life more exciting.
But I don’t want to lie to people.
My life isn’t very exciting, it’s ordinary and simple.
And I love it.
One account said that to engage my audience I needed to create and share a video every single day. I’m not sure how that is possible.
I can’t keep up.
I wasn’t created to keep up.
But I was created to keep showing up.
To slow down and let go and give what I have and love and live.
And so were you.
So, that's what I’ll do.
I’ll let go and keep showing up.
Thank you for being here. If you’re a paid subscriber, or if you’ve purchased my books, I can’t thank you enough for your continued kindness.

I'm back. FanTASTic. Love it. The changes on SM are fast and furious. It's waaay too much, and I'm getting that instinctive feel that many of us do not have the desire to 'keep up." The market is glutted, (flooded)(but I prefer glutted, coz🤷♀️) and for the Oreo Debate? Can't remember coz it's been eons, because empty nest etc.
😂...thought the whole poem was "I can't"... which I LOVED 😂 Going back now to read The Rest of the Story.
