I'm back. FanTASTic. Love it. The changes on SM are fast and furious. It's waaay too much, and I'm getting that instinctive feel that many of us do not have the desire to 'keep up." The market is glutted, (flooded)(but I prefer glutted, cozπ€·ββοΈ) and for the Oreo Debate? Can't remember coz it's been eons, because empty nest etc.
Tanner, your words are always just the reminder I need! And they always hit at the right times. This is SOOO good!!! Thank you for continuing to share your words with the world.
Ha. Truth! I'm not a social media person but I still find myself getting frustrated over it. There's that internal feeling that I'm *supposed* to get a certain amount of views, followers, subscribers, etc. But God reminded me this week that He's the one who brings the people. Not me. I'm just supposed to draw from God, as He draws in others. He's the one I write for and make posts for, the audience that comes with it is just a blessing for God's glory to shine π
Thank you for sharing and reminding me once again to show up! π
This is SO SO good! I have felt the same way since I joined my first writers group in 2020. They told me all the things I had to do to "keep up." It has taken me several years to undo all the damage that message did to me and my writing. I am in a new writers group that has such a different feel and I am so grateful! Thank you for the reminder to just be yourself!
So glad to hear you're in a writers group that encourages you to just create and give what you have. Sounds very healthy and fun :) Keep on showing up, Megan!
I used to write faith and life blogs on Instagram. Then I lost followers, got "shadowbanned", couldn't seem to reach anyone anymore. It was really discouraging. I knew it wasn't about the number of people who it reached, because even just one impacted soul was special, but it bothered me too.
God ended up leading me to leave social media. It's been really freeing. Just something to think about β€οΈ I love your writings. They really relate to me and keep me pressing on.
With the lead up to easter I hadnβt made any content for like a month. Felt really behind and disconnected. But I also donβt want to create in order to keep up.
I hear that! I don't want to just give fluff, but something hopeful and meaningful. Keep on doing what you're doing, Daniel. Every small and faithful step is for something.
π (feel an Oreo Debate coming on)(thanks you guys, for giving this older gal a laugh ) ππͺ π no oreo emojis. Send complaints to Mr. Zuckerberg or Mr. Gates π€·ββοΈ

π...thought the whole poem was "I can't"... which I LOVED π Going back now to read The Rest of the Story.
As a fellow writer, I appreciate this precious encouragement to just be. π«ΆπΌ
:) I am still learning to take those words to heart!

Hi Mariah!
Thanks for sharing all of that.
Social media is a wild place that seems to leave most of us stressed out and exhausted. Good for you for stepping away.
Glad you're here :)
Love Oreo guys.
:)
Donβt stop being you! We love you for who you are!
Thank you Sandy!

Keeping up is so overrated! Exactly.
