99 CENT MANGO I want to and will say is profound in my thinking. It resonated deep in my spirit for oftentimes I find myself on the brink of letting go or giving up on something or someone I sooo love due to frustrations, weariness and plain old just tired in my longing for something I have longed for for a long period of time. Being patient IS NOT an easy task. However, the way it has been expressed in this poem by Mr. Olson has "hit home" for me (the proverbial nail on the head). It was as though he has been right beside me as I have traveled this path of striving to be patient with someone or for the things I want so badly. He truly knows the struggle it is to wait and when the WAIT IS OVER!!! and you finally receive what you've been wanting and waiting for for so long. It's like that long waited for "Mango" once it ripe and ready to be eaten.
Yeah, I am bad at patience and I have the same bad luck with restaurants.........the food poisoning! My "biscuit" is ice cream and when the shake machines are down or they are out of the flavor I want (just happened a couple days ago) then..............grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I so needed this today. I’m a single 65 year old pastor moving to a “new” position across the state of NC to be closer to my ailing parents. Patience has been hard. All the packing and downsizing and deadlines and meetings and so on. Thanks for the reminder that God is shaping me during this time. Blessings to you.
I am going through a time of change in my life, and must remember to be patient. Thank you for sharing this!
Your biscuit story made me smile. 😊
:) I'm so glad!
It was so good hearing, "Wait." this morning. Aptly timed, as God usually is.
Thank you for writing.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick... but our sick hearts bring us closer to God. I think that should be the full saying.
Thank you for reading, Claire!

I would risk it for the bisquit, too. I’ve done the same.
